Sooo... I got to wondering...
Why do many people prefer to focus on the negative or the differences they encounter?

Jody BeanLike, a factoid presented at Walgreen's training on Saturday:
Only 1 in 15 customers will talk about a positive shopping experience with their friends, while 1 badly affected customer, on average, will tell 17 of their friends about their experience...
Jody BeanPoliticians are notorious for mud-slinging - focusing on the poor decisions of their opponents...
Jody BeanConsider also the various "ism"s: racism, sexism, ageism, classism...
James S. DriscollWhy did that driver cut ME off? Uh, they cut off the car, not the person.
Jody Bean(...part of me thinks the underlying cause goes back to ego defense - focus on another's weakness, in order to cast one's self in a better light...)
Jody BeanAlso... I think judging is considered a higher-order thinking skill:
After gathering evidence and experience, we still need to sort out the wheat from the chaffe. We need to determine 'what good to pursue and what bad to avoid'...
