“If I see no use or need for you, then I will not set aside time for you.”
Contrast with the various religions’ idea:
“That which you do unto the least of your brothers, that you do unto Me.”
Which I could reinterpret in one secular way as:
“I will treat myself just as I treat everyone I interact with, whether I intend to or not.” (If I look down on the poor, then I disdain poverty in myself. If I worship celebrity, then creating my own fame becomes a priority. )
