 Hmm... Green...

So, why is chlorophyll green?
- middle of the visible spectrum, royGbiv
- does the visible spectrum contain the majority of electromagnetic radiations on Earth, in the Universe?
- consider the excited states of most common atoms, like hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, etc
- different distributions for organic vs inorganic, stellar vs planetary
- is evolution at work, selecting green as the most economical energy absorber?
- ...or selecting vision that sees the visible spectrum instead of microwaves or radio waves?
- ...or what about other animals - can they "tune in" different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum, to find their ecological niche?
...
Yep. That's where my mind can wander, while looking at the fields of green before me...
