I was startled out of my bed this morning by a vision of a black spider crawling along my arm, up towards my eyes.
It was rather bizarre, being a dull, fuzzy black form, but spotted with glowing yellow-green, fluorescing spots...
The thought was upon me of a creature so venomous that it would be akin to a brown recluse; followed quickly by the thought of my friend recounting a night trip to the ER when his recluse bite took a turn for the worse.
I now know what it feels like to jump out of bed, to be so startled that I was tumbling off the bed - hard upon the the carpet... to be wide awake when, but a second before, I was shifting in and out of a lazy dream space.
